“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” - William James

Our founder, Sarah, is a wife and working mom of two young boys in Florida. As a helping professional, she has always been passionate about the well-being of others and the communities we live in.

Over time, she felt a growing desire to shift her family’s spending away from large corporations (or, the billionaires and their personal agendas) and toward independent businesses that actively do good and/or give back. What started as a personal goal quickly became overwhelming. Finding values-aligned businesses wasn’t easy, and there wasn’t one trusted place to discover them. That realization sparked the idea behind The Boycott Spot.

This platform was created to serve as a centralized, curated directory of independent businesses committed to giving back — whether through philanthropy, community involvement, ethical practices, or mission-driven initiatives.

We believe that shopping with your values shouldn’t feel complicated or exhausting. Our goal is to simplify the process by thoughtfully reviewing and featuring businesses that demonstrate a commitment to positive impact.

This platform is built on the belief that intentional spending has power. When we redirect our dollars toward businesses that care about more than profit, we help strengthen communities and causes that matter.

Thank you for choosing to spend with purpose!
